Celebrating One Year: Creative Success Story

One year ago, Curious Pixels opened its doors in Nairn as a one-person creative studio with a simple ambition: to give Highland businesses access to the kind of professional creative support that had previously meant travelling to Inverness, hiring multiple suppliers, or paying city agency prices for work that got handed off to someone who had never heard of you.

Twelve months on, I genuinely could not be more proud of what has been built, and none of it would have been possible without the clients, collaborators, and supporters who took a chance on a brand new studio in a small Highland town.

So before anything else, thank you. To every past client, every current client, and every person who has a project in the pipeline. You are the reason Curious Pixels exists.

A Studio Built for Nairn and the Highlands

One of the highlights of the past year has been opening a dedicated studio space right here in Nairn. That might sound like a small thing, but it matters. It means the people of Nairn and the surrounding Highlands now have direct access to a full service creative studio on their doorstep. No travelling to the city. No waiting weeks for a response from an agency that has fifty other clients. Just a proper creative studio, locally based, genuinely invested in the businesses and community around it.

Nairn has never had a studio quite like this before. A single place where a local business can get their logo designed, their website built, their social media managed, their products photographed, and their premises captured on drone video, all without picking up the phone to five different suppliers or driving to Inverness. That feels like something worth celebrating, and worth building on.

And when I say full service, I mean it. Curious Pixels offers brand identity and logo design, web design and SEO, social media management, professional photography, drone and video production, and Pixel+, the monthly creative retainer that brings all of those services together under one roof. One person, one point of contact, no handoffs.

To Every Client Who Has Been Part of Year One

Whether you came to me for a logo and ended up with a full brand, a website and a social media strategy, or whether you needed one specific thing done properly and trusted me to deliver it, every project this year has mattered. Every brief has been approached with the same level of care, strategic thinking, and attention to detail regardless of size or budget.

The businesses I have had the privilege of working with this year span hospitality, retail, tourism, professional services, trades, community organisations, and more, right across Nairn, Inverness, Forres, Elgin, Aviemore, Dingwall and the wider Highlands. Some are brand new businesses launching for the first time. Others are established names refreshing how they present themselves to the world. All of them have one thing in common: they care about doing things properly.

That attitude makes my job genuinely enjoyable. Working with clients who value good creative work, who engage with the process, and who trust the expertise they have brought in is the reason I get up every morning and do this.

If you are a past client reading this, thank you for your trust, your referrals, and your kind words. If you are a current client, thank you for the ongoing relationship and the opportunity to keep doing what I do best on your behalf. And if you have a project in the pipeline, I cannot wait to get started.

What Year Two Looks Like

Going into year two, Curious Pixels remains exactly what it has always been: a one-person studio. That is not going to change. The whole point of what I do is that you get direct access to the person doing the work, every single time, from the first conversation to the final delivery. No layers, no account managers, no juniors. Just one person who genuinely cares about the outcome.

That said, year two will bring growth. The services on offer may expand as new opportunities emerge and as clients ask for things that push the studio in new directions. The ambition is always to offer more, do it better, and serve the Highland business community in ways that genuinely make a difference to the businesses here.

If there is a service you need that you are not sure I offer, just ask. The answer might surprise you.
