Presenting: Dick Whittington: The Full Recording

There is nothing quite like the electric atmosphere of a pantomime. The lights, the laughter, the "She’s behind yous," and the sheer chaos of live theatre create a magic that is fleeting - unless you capture it properly.

We recently had the pleasure of filming a wonderful production of Dick Whittington. It was a joy to capture the quick movements of Tommy the Cat, the atmospheric lighting of King Rat’s lair, and the energy of the finale. Filming the show preserves the months of hard work put in by the cast and crew forever.

But working on Dick Whittington reminded us that a successful production requires more than just performance on the night. The magic actually starts weeks before the curtain goes up.

Producing an event - whether it's a local panto, a school play, or a dance recital - is a massive undertaking. How you present that production to the world visually makes the difference between empty seats and a sold-out run.

The full recording of the show is available to watch below.

A Note on Donations

While this video is free for you to enjoy, we invite everyone who views it to donate whatever they can to CAST.

CAST is a fantastic organisation that splits all proceeds among local causes right here in Nairn. This donation is completely optional, but every penny really does count and goes directly to helping our community.

The 5 Visual Assets Every Production Needs

At Curious Pixels, we don't just hit record on the final night. We offer a full suite of creative support to ensure your event succeeds from day one.

Based on our experience, here are the five essential visual elements that will elevate your event from "amateur" to "professional" - all of which we can create for you.

1. The "Hero" Image (Posters & Banners)

You have seconds to grab someone's attention. A high-quality, professionally designed poster is your first impression. Whether it's a digital flyer for Facebook or a 6-foot outdoor roller banner for the foyer, striking branding is key to selling tickets. We handle the design and can even arrange the large-format printing.

2. Professional Cast Headshots

Selfies don't belong in the programme! Uniform, high-resolution headshots give your cast a sense of pride and make your marketing materials look polished. We can set up a portable studio at your rehearsal space to get these done quickly and professionally.

3. The Teaser Trailer (Video Marketing)

Video is king on social media. A 30-second "sizzle reel" of rehearsals or a fun character reveal creates buzz that static images just can't match. Use a professional teaser trailer to drive that final push for ticket sales before opening night.

4. The Souvenir Programme

The programme is the one thing the audience takes home. It shouldn't just be a blurry list of names; it should be a keepsake. We design professional layouts that balance cast bios, headshots, advertisements, and rehearsal photos into a beautiful booklet (or a digital PDF for eco-friendly audiences).

5. The Archival Recording (The Main Event)

After the final curtain falls, the show disappears - unless you film it professionally. A high-quality, recording with clear audio isn't just a nice-to-have; it's essential for cast showreels, a cherished memory for the crew, and a vital tool for reviewing your work for next year.
